A nonprofit is asking the public for help to find ways to safely store food donations for the community.

The Albanian and American Open Hand Association helps the Bronx community get access to fresh food.

The food pantry serves over 1,000 people a week, thanks to donations from community organizations.

Organizers say they are now running out of ways to store the food because they only have a few refrigerators and freezers. They also have no air conditioning.

"They do an outstanding job for a community, now it's time for the community to step up for them to help," said one volunteer.
