Allerton residents say that they are concerned about multiple car break-ins taking place in their neighborhood.

Residents woke up Wednesday morning to multiple smashed car windows.

“To see three cars smashed in the same night, it’s a little over the top," said Anthony, an Allerton resident.

Anthony says car break-ins at the intersection of Olinville Avenue and Waring Avenue have become a common occurrence.

“I have a van, and they smashed my window one time and stole over $200 of tools," said Anthony.

Despite the frequency of break-ins, residents say they have no choice but to continue using street parking.

“Parking lots can go from anywhere from $300 to $400 a month, and living in New York, especially The Bronx - who has that kind of budget?" said Anthony.
