Thousands of Amazon workers have walked off the job Thursday, just days before Christmas and the start of Hanukkah. Now, some Brooklyn residents are wondering if their gifts will make it on time.

Jaasiel McFarlane, shipping expert at Outside the Box Shipping in Mill Basin, said the store is a hub for Amazon shipments.

"We have Amazon deliver stuff all the time. We even have Amazon packages on the counter here," said McFarlane. "If someone doesn't feel safe having their stuff delivered to their house, we can just have it delivered here and they can just pick up with their ID."

But now McFarlane fears there could be some very disappointed customers.

"I feel like it may affect the delivery because if someone needs something by the 25th, then it's going to be delayed further because of everything that's going on right now," he said.

While there's worry the strike could mean packages won't reach their destinations in time, some customers are thankful they got an early start.

"My planning this year was good," said Maureen Maloney, who dropped off some Christmas packages at Outside the Box Shipping. She was surprised Amazon workers went on strike during the height of the holiday season.

"If they're banding together for a fair wage from a very large corporation that makes a lot of money, then I think that's a good thing."

According to Amazon, they don't expect the strike to impact deliveries.
