An Amber Alert has been issued for a 9-month-old who is believed to have been abducted in Manhattan.
The alert was activated by the 32nd Precinct, which says the child was taken at the intersection of West 131st Street and Frederick Douglas Boulevard at 2:50 a.m. Monday.
The child's name is Mi Angel Gaines – a Black female with long black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 15 inches tall and weighs 19 pounds.
Police says she was taken by Antonio Armstrong – a Black male, 22, with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. There is a tattoo of a microphone on his neck.
Armstrong is the girl's biological father, but he does not have custody of her.
Police say Armstrong first assaulted the girl's mother before taking the baby, who was in a stroller.
According to the NYPD, the child was "taken under circumstances that led police to believe that they are in imminent danger of serious harm and/or death."
The 9-month-old was last seen wearing a red, white and blue onesie.
Anyone with any information about the incident is urged to call the 32nd Precinct at 212-690-6315 or dial 911 to provide information on a report or sighting.
