A fire in a Morris Heights apartment building injured at least six people and displaced 25 families Tuesday.
The six-story apartment building at Andrews and West Burnside avenues erupted in flames around 2:30 a.m.
Fire officials say five people inside the building were treated for smoke inhalation, and a firefighter twisted his ankle.
Fire Chief Jay Jones says it took dozens of units two hours to douse the fire, which started on the building's fifth floor inside apartment 5C. Flames eventually spread all the way to the roof.
The American Red Cross is providing emergency housing for at least four of the displaced families.
