A Brooklyn artist is displaying his latest work on a house of worship in Bushwick, sending a message of light to front line workers.
Jonathan Sparks installed his installation, Lights Over Bushwick, on the steeple of a church which houses two congregations and a community collective.
It's been a work in progress for about six months - originally meant to be interactive with the community and to commemorate holidays. The concept changed once the pandemic hit and now it's been turned into a bright and colorful standing ovation to those hard at work keeping people healthy and safe.
The goal is to keep people together from a distance.
Sparks says the installation is visible from Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and hopes it sends a message of hope and appreciation for those inside.
