The state's Office of Alcoholism and Substance Services has reportedly denied an application for Miracle City's proposed drug treatment center.
The treatment center was supposed to be built at 2800 Bruckner Blvd.
Assemblyman Michael Benedetto shared the news with News 12 in a statement, saying, "I, along with my colleagues in government, understand we need treatment for those in need but this site was inappropriate as it was within a block of a school, church and soccer field. I thank OASAS and Gov. Cuomo's office for listening."
OASAS released a statement that says in part, "We will continue to work with our certified providers across New York state to ensure that important services are in place for all New Yorkers who are affected by addiction."
