The New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation is investigating a suspected murder-suicide in Spuyten Duyvil.

The AG’s office says that on Jan. 22, an off-duty Port Authority officer fired his service weapon and fatally shot his sister and critically injured his mother. This happened inside an apartment building on Johnson Avenue.

The officer and his sister were pronounced dead at the scene. Two firearms were recovered. The officer’s mother is recovering at the NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem.
