Instead of getting stressed about homework and tests, some Bronx students are kicking off the school year by letting their worries 'fly away.'
Dozens of children released balloons into the air Wednesday at the South Bronx Academy for Applied Media.
Teachers say the symbolism behind the activity is for kids to get rid of all the negativity that may hinder them during the academic year.
Students pretend balloons are bad habits, and teachers say the enthusiasm was off the charts.
Teachers say they chose white balloons because they believe it signifies a 'clean slate' for all students.
