Officials say a Bay Shore man has been sentenced to 40-years-to-life in prison for murdering his ex-fiancee.

Quay-Sean Renard Hines in September was convicted of gunning down Amelia Laguerre over two years ago.

Prosecutors say the murder occurred in the parking garage of a New Hyde Park medical facility where Laguerre worked.

Hines became violent when she would not re-start their relationship, prosecutors added.
