Beat the Heat is in full swing for New Yorkers
New York City residents have a new way to keep cool during the heat.

Mayor Eric Adams announced an expansion to the number of cooling centers across the city.
His administration is launching a cool options map next week so people can find one that is closest to their homes or where they are. The map is available 24 hours and seven days a week.
Some of the cooling centers are public libraries, senior centers and museums. Even though we're not in the hottest days of summer just yet, the mayor said Thursday it's never too soon to act.
"It's not too early to plan and we want people to prepare before the heat starts to really impact the city. It's about proper planning being prepared its about opening our homes to those loved ones that we know don't have an air conditioner don't have adequate cooling," said Mayor Adams.
Cooling centers are open during extreme heat, but the city is also advising New Yorkers to stay hydrated and take cool showers if needed.
