An entrepreneur from Crown Heights says she wants to give back to her community and help other aspiring New Yorkers launch their business successfully.
When Donna Prescott started her beauty salon business 10 years ago, she didn't have much business knowledge.
"It was a lot of trial-and-error for me in my business," Prescott said.
Now she's sharing what she's learned through the years to other aspiring entrepreneurs with free classes.
Prescott says she often finds herself receiving Instagram messages asking questions about what she has done as a business owner. The classes help entrepreneurs start an LLC, get an EIN number, and even start a business bank account.
Karlene Walker, owner of Kaldon Design, is learning from Prescott after starting her design business about one year ago.
"I want my business to be set up in such a way that it is professionally done, and it is working the right way," Walker said. "Us just brainstorming and masterminding together, it brings so much to the table."
