Bronx native Caraun Reid says he is prepared to come back to the NFL this season after taking more than a year off to recover from a torn ACL.
Reid suffered the season-ending injury while playing with the Detroit Lions in 2016.
"The injury was devastating because I thought I was going to come back a lot sooner. But the whole thing was like, sometimes you just need time and I needed a lot longer than I wanted. But it's good to be back," Reid says.
He recently paid a visit to his old stomping grounds at Mount St. Michael Academy in the Bronx where he learned to play football.
"This is where I learned how to play football. The first time I put on pads and played a snap was on this field here," he says.
In December, Reid was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts and he says he's ready to play.
"To really be known around the league as a really good player; that's my goal for this year. No numbers, nothing else, but I just want to make a name for myself this year," Reid says.
