A bike shop owner says he's seeing a supply shortage due to shipping problems and surge in riding - all related to the pandemic.
Tony Scarselli, the owner of Atlantic Bicycle in Boreum Hill, says he only has about a dozen bikes when he usually has around 150.
The Department of Transportation reported a 50% increase in cycling back in March as the city began to pause and people wanted to avoid public transportation or pick up a new hobby.
Scarselli says bike shops are struggling to get shipments of new bicycles from overseas.
He encourages people to try and find old bikes or buy one used, and then bring it to the shop for repairs.
