WHAT TO KNOW:
  • It's a mostly cloudy and calm start to the day.
  • Breezy conditions are expected this afternoon. Wind gusts may reach more than 30 mph.
  • There's an elevated risk for fire spread today because of the low humidity and strong wind.
  • Sunday morning is cold, but the afternoon is the pick of the weekend!
  • No significant rain.
It's a calm start to Saturday morning, but strong wind and sunshine returns this afternoon. Wind gusts could reach more than 30 mph. Although the wind is not as strong as yesterday, the lower humidity will bring an elevated risk for fire spread today. Avoid starting outdoor flames.
The Weekend Forecast
High temperatures today will be a touch cooler than yesterday, in the mid 40s. The strongest wind will arrive this afternoon, which will bring wind chill values into the mid 30s at times. Expect clearer skies later today.
Don't forget the clocks will spring forward overnight. Are you in favor of opposed to Daylight Saving Time?
Will drop below freezing after midnight and until about 9 a.m. on Sunday morning. This is the coldest part of the 10 day forecast. Breezes will persist around 15 mph, which will bring wind chill values into the teens and 20s early Sunday. Bring the winter jacket!
Sunday is all about layers. After a cold start, the wind will relax, clouds will start to build, and temperatures will jump to near 50 in the afternoon.
The Work Week
A significant warm up is possible next week, but it will be fighting the influence of cold water off the Atlantic. The best chance for upper 50s and low 60s will be Monday and Tuesday afternoon. A few spots could jump into the upper 60s. This could be our warmest stretch so far this season.
Wednesday was originally looking mild, but a stronger east breeze has trended temperatures down a touch. We're expecting high temperatures to reach 50 Wednesday through Friday. It's a cooler trend then originally expected, but still mild for March.
Beyond Next Week
Model Guidance consistently shows another warmup toward St. Patrick's Day at the end of our 10 day forecast. Temperatures for mid-March look quite mild.
Any Storms?
At this time, the trend is for little to no significant rain for the next week. There is no winter weather in the forecast.
