If you're looking for a lively bar and grill featuring hearty portions of Guyanese cuisine with a Chinese flair, look no further than Melanie's Roti in the Bronx.
The Castle Hill restaurant has been open for about 8 1/2 years, owners say.
It's a family-owned business where the owner's children and wife also help run and manage the restaurant.
The family says they also pride themselves on giving back to the community and work to donate meals to those in need around the holiday season.
Melanie's Roti specializes in Guyanese and West Indian cuisine, combining both modern and traditional West Indian styles of cooking and offering a wide variety of delicious and authentic Guyanese foods and drinks. Their best dish is the chicken fried rice, owners say.
The restaurant is named after one of the owner’s daughters.
