The owner of a restaurant with two Bronx locations says he wants to bring a little bit of Mexico to the borough.
Antonio Vilchis opened Mexicocina nearly a decade ago.
"We use all fresh ingredients. Everything is homemade, everything is made here," he says. "We use fresh herbs. We use dry peppers, fresh peppers. We use all the products that we can use naturally. I don't use any Adobo, Goya or anything like that."
Vilchis says the real showstopper is the restaurant's tacos.
"Mexicocina tacos are very popular. Nobody has them. It's a homemade tortilla seasoned with the meat, which is chipotle pepper and queso oxaca. We put that on a fresh corn tortilla and we garnish it with cilantro and onions," he says.
