Bells rang on Thursday throughout Concourse Village in memory of the Bronx residents whose lives were lost on 9/11.
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. brought together the NYPD, FDNY and families who lost their loved ones on Sept. 11, 2001.
As the rain poured, 144 names of those from the Bronx that perished were read.
Memories were honored through music, the reading of the names and speeches that highlighted the need for unity in our nation 18 years later.
Diaz called on his fellow Bronx community members to love one another regardless of race, religious views and economic status. He also said it's important to educate the youth on this day because it is a day the nation can't forget.
