Police seized more than 70 illegal firearms in a crackdown on gun trafficking, officials said Tuesday.
Investigators arrested six men in connection with the weapons, according to NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton. The arrests, part of a monthslong operation, were part of a larger crackdown on illegal guns.
Undercover officers purchased the guns in the Bronx and Harlem between January and August, according to police.
The NYPD has seized more than 1,000 illegal guns since 2010, according to officials.
