Fairfield police arrested a Bridgeport man who is accused of harassing staff at a local bar and assaulting multiple officers.

Police say they responded to a report of an aggressive individual at Bill’s Crossroads Bar in Fairfield on Jan. 16.

Officials say Ricardo Larrea-Navia was removed from the bar and when he spoke with police and first responders, he grew agitated with them and began yelling at authorities and calling 911.

Police say he grabbed officers and first responders and spit in the eye of one of the officers.

Larrea-Navia was charged with three counts of misuse of 911, one count of breach of peace and three counts of assault on a police officer.

He was being held on a $50,000 bond.
