The Bronx borough president, along with the Bronx Supreme Court, held a day of remembrance for victims of Sept. 11.
The memorial ceremony took place at Lou Gehrig Plaza. Two FDNY trucks hoisted up the American flag while the bagpipes played to remember the lives lost.
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. gathered with members of the FDNY and NYPD to honor the 143 Bronx residents who died 17 years ago.
"They attacked all of us, so we come together to reaffirm that love, to reaffirm that commitment, to re-establish that brother and sisterhood, that love for country, that diversity that unites us," said Diaz.
All those who attended say they will never forget.
