Bronx borough President Vanessa Gibson delivered her first State of the Borough address at Manhattan College Wednesday night.
Mayor Adams, past Bronx leaders and elected officials from other boroughs were present while she was recognized.
Gibson, who was elected in Nov. 2021, is the first Black female Bronx borough president.
During the address, she announced several projects that she says will make the Bronx a tourist destination.
"We recently celebrated the opening of the Bronx’s first ever children’s museum,” she said.
The Celia Cruz Choir performed the National Anthem along with the Dominican and Puerto Rican National Anthem during the event.
A dance performance was also put on by members of the Academy for Scholarship and Entrepreneurship Dance Troupe before Gibson made her grand entrance.
