October is National Book Month and Bronx Bound Books is celebrating with an expansion.
Bronx Bound Books is known for a book mobile that travels to schools and community partners around the Bronx. Now, it has a kiosk in the mall to make books more affordable and accessible to everyone.
Owner and founder Latanya Devaughn's says the kiosk sells books for the whole family in both English and Spanish. Her hope is that the diversity of books can be both fun and educational for all ages. She prides herself on also selling books that some states across the country have banned.
Devaughn says she plans to have local authors read to kids. The first story time will be held at the kiosk on Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.
The Bronx Bound Books kiosk is located on the third floor of the Mall at Bay Plaza. It's open seven days a week, during mall hours and is set to remain open through the holiday season.
