Two NYPD officers were indicted on criminal sexual act and sexual abuse charges on Wednesday, according to the Bronx District Attorney's Office.
Officials say Christian Garcia, 31, and Julio Alcantara-Santiago, 39, are facing a slew of charges in connection to an incident that took place in July 2023.
Authorities say the investigation revealed that the two defendants were off duty and drinking alcohol with the victim at a Bronx night spot and that the victim became heavily intoxicated. The victim is seen on surveillance video unable to walk and being carried by the two defendants into a building.
Officials say that the victim went to a hospital the next morning, and medical testing identified DNA from both men on the victim.
The two defendants are due back in court on Aug. 6.
