Though some pretty large puddles formed in the borough as a result of heavy rainfall Tuesday night, the Bronx did not get the brunt of this more than 800-mile wide storm.
The Town of Islip on Long Island saw at least 13 inches of rain, and the Southern State Parkway looked like a river. A new state record was set for total rainfall in a 24-hour period.
Just a short distance to the South, some air travelers will be coming back to ruined cars. Flooding swamped a parking lot at Baltimore-Washington International Airport. About six inches of rain fell in the D.C. area Tuesday.
