A Bronx man is facing attempted murder charges after police say he and a woman tried to kill a police officer in New Jersey.
Prosecutors say Adonis Almonte fired a gun at an off-duty officer from the Harrison Police Department on Friday.

Police say that Almonte and the woman were arrested when their car crashed into a home on Oak and Madison streets in Paterson.
Almonte was hurt in the crash and Ortega ran away, according to officials. Officers caught up with her on Sunday.
