A Bronx couple is pleading for help for their children who they say are living in deplorable conditions in their New York City Housing Authority home.
Kadeem Campbell and his wife have been living in the Melrose Houses for over seven years, but he says it has been chaos.
Campbell says the wall in the children’s room has flooded with water from busted pipes in his kitchen.
The wall is unable to be painted over because of how soggy it is with water coming straight into his two daughters’ bedroom.
The room flooded while they were asleep inside.
Both children have severe asthma and other health issues and are unable to live in the conditions.
Campbell says he has several tickets filed with NYCHA.
He says crews have come to paint and plaster the wall, but they don’t finish the work or run into a new problem.
The couple says a maintenance man stopped by on Sunday, but told them there was no active leak. NYCHA says it will be rescheduling maintenance for Monday.
