A Bronx school is teaching students with disabilities the skills it takes to cut and style hair while giving back to the community.
The New Life School in Morrisania is offering the 12-month program where students learn to cut hair.
Willy Aquino, the program's teacher say the students give haircuts to volunteers who were formerly homeless.
“Just working with the kids, it's a great thing. It's one of the best. They give back to the community and they're really into it and that is for me, my main thing,” Aquino says.
The program serves more than 200 students with different learning and emotional disabilities.
All of the students are between the ages of 18 and 21 years old.
