A Bronx man is facing a slew of charges after investigators say he used Santeria rituals to trick and take advantage of his clients.
Authorities say the victims went to Christian Robles' fourth-floor apartment at 2172 Ryer Ave. seeking healing but instead were physically and sexually abused by Robles, who claimed to be practicing Santeria. In one case, police say Robles forced a miscarriage by standing on a pregnant woman's stomach and back. One victim even reported feeling drugged.
Robles faces charges that include five counts of sex abuse, three counts of assault and one count of abortion. Police say five people, both men and women ranging in age from 20 to 39, have come forward to allege abuse at the hands of the 32-year-old between March and April 2018.
Robles is a single father of three young children. A woman who said she knows him through school describes him as an attentive and present parent.
News 12 reached out to the Administration for Children's Services to find out the children's current whereabouts. "We are investigating this case and we have taken action to secure the safety of the children in this home," a representative said.
