Students throughout the Bronx and the rest of the city took part in celebrating college application week this week.
At Antonia Pantoja Prep Academy in Soundview, students took part in a number of activities all decked out in school colors. Juniors cheered on seniors as they marched down the street to mail in their college applications.
Phil Weinberg, the deputy chancellor of the city Department of Education, says a record number of schools participated in the weeklong event, with 126 schools in the Bronx taking part.
Seniors at the prep academy say being cheered on felt great. One student says high school isn't the end it's just a new start to a beautiful beginning.
The students applied for CUNY schools this week, and next week they will tackle SUNY applications.
