Doors at Kennedy Children’s Center have been shut since mid-March, but Bronx teachers returned to the building this week to pack up supplies preschoolers can use.
Markers, crayons, play dough, books and toys were stuffed into individualized bags tailored for each student.
The center works with children with special needs between the ages of 2 1/2 and 5. While the staff has been able to continue offering their different therapies and instruction virtually, some parents have mentioned that remote learning has taken a toll on their kids’ daily routine.
So each of these items aims to keep the students engaged while at home.
At the Bronx location, teachers packed up nearly 250 bags that parents will pick up next week just in time for their summer session.
