Bronx families now have a new way to get their hands on some affordable local produce, thanks to a new farm stand in Mott Haven.  

The Mott Haven Farm Stand held its grand opening on Wednesday, hosted by BronxWorks at the Padre Plaza Garden. The Bronx nonprofit is reaching its 50-year anniversary of serving the borough’s communities.  

The event included seminars on healthy eating tips and cooking demonstrations throughout the afternoon, with a chance to sample some recipes prepared at the farm stand.  

Shoppers filled out a brief survey and were given coupons to use among the wide variety of fresh produce offered.  

This farm stand will be open every Wednesday until Nov. 15.
