Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso and Animal Care Centers of partnered up for an animal adoption day event at Brooklyn Borough Hall on Saturday.
The event was free and open to the public, and gave adopters the chance to meet animals, adopt pets with no fees, and go home with giveaways.
The event was hosted after Animal Centers of NYC announced its shelters could no longer accept dogs because it has run out of room to care for them.
Adopt a Pet is also waiving pet adoption fees at Animal Care Centers of NYC in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island throughout the month of October. For more New York City pet adoption resources, click here.
