Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez has announced 32 men and women, including popular drill rapper Chef G, have been arrested and are facing multiple charges.
Investigators allege the suspects are responsible for two dozen violent incidents that took place between March of 2019 and May 2023.
They allege gang activity took place across central to south Brooklyn. The DA adds that two gangs ultimately joined together to become more prominent and access guns. They also said drill rapper Chef G, identified as Michael Williams, became a prominent member of the gang and used his fortune to encourage gang activity.
Mayor Eric Adams was also at the announcement Tuesday and referenced TikTok as a main platform that was used by Chef G to promote violence.
According to authorities, Chef G could be facing anywhere from 5 to 25 years along with many of the others arrested.
