Businesses in Throgs Neck will be in the spotlight this weekend.

On Saturday, the Throgs Neck Business Improvement District will host a Business Appreciation Day at Derosa-O’Boyle Triangle from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“The reason why we do all this is to turn back and let the community know that we appreciate everything they do for our businesses and our community during the course of the year," said Bob Jaen, executive director of the Throgs Neck BID.

The event kicks off a summer of things to do in Throgs Neck, hosted by the BID, in partnership with Sen. Natalia Fernandez, Assembly Member Michael Benedetto, Councilmember Kristy Marmorato and local organizations.
