Timothy Cardinal Dolan paid a special visit to Mount Saint Michael's Academy Monday.
The Bronx all-boys school is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.
Cardinal Dolan was greeted by and shook hands with eager students, teachers and administrators and took a tour of the campus as well.
He later presided over a Mass with the entire student body listening to his words of encouragement.
This is Cardinal Dolan's first visit to Mount Saint Michael's Academy. He says he is proud of the school's legacy and achievements of its students.
"I think the message is today that we had a wonderful past, looking forward to a wonderful future," says principal Steve Schlitte.
The school has graduated more than 20,000 students since its opening in 1926.
News 12 is told many of those students have stayed in their community to give back.
