Police have released video of a man they say robbed an elderly man in Bedford Park.

The incident, which was caught on surveillance video, happened on June 7 around 7:40 a.m.

The 80-year-old victim tells investigators he was walking down 199th Street crossing Briggs Avenue when he felt someone grab him from behind.

That’s when the video captures his attacker trying to take the victim’s backpack. The elderly man tries to resist and falls on the ground, as the man drags him on the sidewalk. The man eventually snatched the backpack with the victim’s personal items inside.

News 12 is told the victim suffered a minor injury.
