September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, and the Children's Hospital at Montefiore is doing its part by helping families that are dealing with childhood cancer.
Patients and their families got to take part in a day of fun with arts and crafts and games.
Patients tell News 12 they are grateful for events like these.
"This happens every year. They bring in resources and have them all in one place. Parents have access to whatever is going to help the kids," said parent Yadira Ekamen.
Experts say around 43 kids and young adults are diagnosed with cancer per day. That's around 15,000 each year in the United States.
