Mayor Bill de Blasio gave fitness centers across the city permission to reopen their doors Sept. 2.
Blink Fitness, in the Mount Eden Section of the Bronx, says it will keep people safe with its brand-new operation.
"When you come through the door…there will be socially distancing icons they need to follow," says David Collignon, the senior vice president of operations.
Some new procedures include health screenings and temperature checks. Gym-goers will also be asked to sanitize their hands and required to wear masks.
By using a contactless check-in method, the gym can ensure they stay at the 33% capacity requirement.
Some of the equipment throughout the gym will be out of use as a way to maintain social distancing. There will also be constant cleaning of the equipment.
The air filters throughout the gym have been replaced with ones that have been proven to stop the spread of COVID-19.
