A solution has been found to counteract City Island's traffic problem, according to Civic Association President Bill Stanton.
The island began implementing eight officers including two traffic cars Saturday to expedite traffic.
A meeting regarding the issue occurred Friday.
Stanton said the whole neighborhood was involved in finding a solution.
"In my opinion, yesterday's meeting was the perfect fusion of elected officials, law enforcement and traffic enforcement personnel combined with the people of City Island getting together, communicating, cooperating and understands the needs of the people on City Island," Stanton said.
The new traffic enforcement will be placed in hot spots where traffic is most congested until Labor Day, when the plan will be reassessed for an extended plan.
