City officials are calling on the MTA to change the way it notifies commuters of bedbug sightings.
The pesky insects have been spotted on several different subway trains in recent weeks, including the N, Q and 6 lines.
Proposed legislation would require the transit agency to inform the public within 24 hours of any bedbug cases on all mass transit.
There is currently no formal notification policy.
