The city released a new updated page to help New Yorkers track trends in coronavirus infections.
The Health Department says it presents more detailed and timely information on the virus.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that Brooklyn red zones have downgraded to orange zones. This means many of the restrictions on businesses, schools, gatherings, seen in these areas are now going to be lifted.
In Brooklyn, a new hot spot seems to be emerging in terms of a growing positivity rate. The ZIP code 11208 covers Cypress Hills and East New York.
"We have to stop a second wave from happening here. It is getting dangerously close. I've been telling you for weeks that we had the ability to stop a second wave. And, for weeks, actually our numbers were higher than we wanted, but they had leveled off. Now, unfortunately, we're seeing a real growth in the positivity rate in this city and that is dangerous,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The governor says New York state is doing better than any state in the country, except for overwhelmingly rural states.
