A mobile testing unit will be stationed at the corner of East 172nd Street and Southern Boulevard for a week--one of 40 in the city offering free coronavirus testing for local families.
This is all part of a citywide push from the city's Test & Trace Corps to continue efforts in neighborhoods that are struggling with the virus.
The outreach is also trying to meet increasing demand by scheduling vaccine appointments at its COVID-19 testing locations.
Health officials are urging New Yorkers to continue to take advantage of free testing in their neighborhoods.
They’re recommending that residents get tested at least once a month to reduce the spread of the virus.
