The Bronx community is calling for
peace after a man was shot and killed Saturday evening along College Avenue.
Police say they witnessed two men
shoot 28-year-old Gabriel Garcia several times, then try to run away and
throw their guns under a car.
A second person was injured as he
was leaving from church. He is in serious condition.
Those two suspects were arrested
and are facing murder charges, according to police.
Garcia's family was
joined by community leaders Wednesday to call for change.
Councilmember Vanessa Gibson led
the demonstration and was joined by Cure Violence groups, as well as
anti-violence advocates.
The community is urging for gun
violence to come to an end.
