Community leaders are calling for a better traffic plan for the Amendola Plaza, the epicenter of Pelham Bay pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
The Pelham Bay Taxpayers and Community Association and the East Bronx Traffic Coalition would like to see some of the surrounding roadways converted into two-way streets in an effort to avoid congestion.
John Doyle, of the coalition, says two-way streets would reduce people's commutes and improve quality of life in the area.
He says he would like the Department of Transportation to conduct a study.
