Into news. 12 New York for your weather too because we're gonna have a lot of updates coming up over the next couple of days as we are on storm watch, heading towards the weekend, rain is gonna be an issue. Let's check in with storm watch teams. Hoo sei right now to find out how much of an issue it's gonna be. Yeah, Kurt, you know, we're dealing with the rain and we're also dealing with the high wind. So here's the top stories through the weekend. So we're dealing with a nice warm up. That's something that you can enjoy. In the meantime, Friday and Saturday, Gusty storms are to follow on our Sunday and then falling temperatures by Monday. So let's get into the next couple of days high as tomorrow near 48 degrees, 55 on, on Saturday and then 61 on Sunday. But look where those temperatures crash mid to upper forties on our Monday and even cooler by the midweek. But again, we're talking about the rain. That's why we are on storm watch. Again. We're tracking some steady rainfall arriving Sunday afternoon and even taking us into Monday morning. So let's time it out on your future Cast Sunday, it is gonna start off dry. Then we see those temperatures climbing into the upper fifties. Low sixties, some light rain start then a random and, and then it starts to pick up in intensity by the evening hours. So this is around midnight. You're seeing temperatures still near 60 degrees and you're seeing the darker shades of green and yellow, good indicated for some soaking rain And even the high winds will start picking up in intensity through this time frame. But look how quickly those temperatures crash from the sixties to the mid forties by Monday morning. Even though that the rain is pushing out of here, we're still gonna be dealing with some standing water and some gusty winds. So your Monday morning commute will still be impacted Monday afternoon. It is drier temperatures in the mid to upper forties, even cooler by Monday evening. But again, back to those high winds, 40 to 50 MPH really going to be any concern as well as the rain. We're talking about 1 to 2.5 inches of rainfall. It's all good and I don't mean Rainbow.

There waiting outside the restaurant. It's going to be a cold morning tomorrow, but then things quickly turn around. Now by Sunday, we're going to be watching for rain and it's going to be a lot of rain, maybe 2 to 3 inches of rain here in western Connecticut, gusty winds 25 to 35 miles an hour sustained, but it's the winds of the wind gusts rather that could reach up to 50 miles an hour closer to the coast. That's going to be just a small window of opportunity. Sunday night into early Monday morning, that's enough to cause some damage and some of the coastal flooding and street flooding could also cause damage as well. So Sunday, not a good day to go out. If you are going out tonight tomorrow morning, make sure you bundle up and layer up. It's still cold. But then we're in the forties for tomorrow. Temperatures not as cold tomorrow night, partly cloudy sky. So at the bus stop, make sure you're nice and warm the afternoon though. Not that bad. And you know what, I think 45 is going to feel incredible. Here's the forecast in Norwalk, temperatures returning to the forties, Saturday, we have F Sunday. It's near 60 degrees before that cold air comes back for. These are in the forecast through next week and that's a look at your local weather.

And of course, we'll have more news in just a few moments. But first, let's turn our attention to our storm watch forecast. Here's meteorologist Addison Green to break down everything you need to know for this weekend and, and to that, we do anticipate seeing a very nice start to the weekend. It's the second half the back end as we're trying to come on back home from our weekend getaways perhaps. And we're dealing with a very high chance of seeing showers come through at last into Monday. Thankfully though, not the entire days for both, these are going to be washed out, but we're going to be seeing this system swing on in by Sunday afternoon, the first half of your Sunday for the most part will be fine, breezy, mild, a touch of the muggy side with an increase of moisture coming up this way. But by Sunday afternoon, overnight into Monday, that's when we get batches arranged strong gusty winds. Those holiday lights that are nicely decked out across your household may be impacted, especially some of those inflatable holiday decorations where you maybe perhaps you want to bring them inside before they get blown away. So putting your future cast right here in motion Sunday morning, you can see we have probably the most of the cloudy skies across the Hudson Valley area. These yellow lines right here are Isobars lines of vehicle pressure, the more amount that we have in place and the closer you are to get shows us a stronger wind field coming on in and the direction of where it's coming from. And we can see those winds will start to increase out of a south westerly direction around lunchtime showers though still aren't here yet, but we're watching those Isobars getting closer together. So more breezy winds by Sunday afternoon with rain coming on down and this will continue being the case overnight, potentially some heavy rain coming on through. Thankfully though, this is for the most part wind, we're sleeping 330 or so right there in the morning, but some strong gusty winds may come down with that rain as that rain comes down from the atmosphere and pulls down that strong wind flow. Now, up past this cold front, approaching our area, we may be dealing with a brief change over places like Sullivan County, Olsa County, a little change over a little wintry mix of snow. I think dry air will come rushing on down first. So that change over will be brief. But nonetheless, it's still possible if you're out and about. We did have some snow showers earlier on today with a brief flow of air coming in off the Great Lakes that has, for the most part shut down. But we still have some cold air in place for tonight with a very light breeze. We'll see temperatures go down towards the low 30 gut in towards your four, five o'clock hour and then moving up nicely towards lunchtime. Around 42. We're getting back to where we should be this time of the year with high temperatures in the mid, maybe even the upper forties. If we're lucky, Saturday is the pick of the week. Mid f coming our way. Sunday, 60 degrees. You're like, wow, that looks great problem is that happens closer to midnight and heavy rain and gusty winds coming on and so it's not gonna be a pleasant 60. Then after that, temperatures tumble forties are coming our way for all of next week.

We've got some ugly stuff knocking on the door. Absolutely. So we've been dealing with the cold for the last couple of days, Joe and now we're looking to warm a little bit, but with that warmth, it comes some stormy conditions. Unfortunately, folks, so getting straight into what we are gonna be expecting, we are in storm watch because you know what we need to know is that Sunday is gonna be pretty nasty for us, Friday though. Not bad. It's gonna be warmer temperatures in the upper forties, Saturday still dry and then we're back to the fifties Sunday. However, it's gonna be near 60 degrees and we're looking for that storm system to move in and it's gonna be impacting our Monday morning as well. We'll get to those details in a few moments, but Hanukkah begins tonight this evening for us and we're looking at temperatures to be in the middle to lower thirties and overnight to around 30 degrees is where we are expecting our low to be as we roll into the overnight hours. So, otherwise, hopefully you have a happy Hanukkah, but we are looking for things to stay dry for us. A couple of flurries over towards the east end, but nevertheless, not looking for much issues as we get into the rest of our Thursday night, take a look at the next 12 hours in itself. Again, staying clear for the most part in our skies, temperatures will start off on our Friday morning into the middle thirties. So you're definitely gonna need that coat and just wanna bundle up. So it's gonna feel cold once we start, but it will improve as we get into our Friday afternoon, upper forties, as I mentioned, Saturday is gonna be pretty mild as well. Middle fifties around this time of year. We're into the middle forties, what our typical seasonal temperatures are so Saturday and Sunday in itself, it's going to be really nice for us in terms of surface temperatures, but then we're looking forward to stormy conditions heading into our Sunday. Otherwise, again, it's going to be rather quiet, but we are gonna be monitoring the storm system rolling in for a Sunday evening around dinner time. That's gonna carry into our Monday morning, which is why we have our storm watch for Sunday night into our Monday morning. And then the following week back to the seasonal temperatures.

Back in my day. All right, let's see where the forecast is headed. As we go into the weekend, we've got rain. We have wind and a lot of it. Now, the timing of it is going to be critical. Most of the storminess that we're anticipating for Sunday is going to happen very late Sunday night into early Monday morning, the weekend is salvageable. Saturday is great and warm. We just see a little bit more cloud coverage. The first part of Sunday, up until about maybe three, four o'clock in the afternoon should be dry. Then the showers start and become steadier and heavier when all is said and done. We're likely going to pick up between 1 to 2 inches of rain in our rain gauges and a lot of that is going to happen very quickly and then the winds are picking up also. So it's a wind driven rain and if we do approach wind gusts of 4045 maybe even 50 miles an hour and it lasts for a couple of hours occasionally hitting those gusts, not, it's not gonna be a 34 hour sustained 40 or 50 mile an hour. Wind gust, it's periodically happening, but that's the type of wind that could get the power to flicker from time to time. We're at 39 dropping down to about 32. The opportunity for rain is going to be Sunday night into Monday morning, Saturday is looking great. Sunday afternoon is ok. It's cloudy but you'll be able to feel it in the air that the rain is certainly going to be building. So for tonight, temperatures, twenties and thirties with just a few clouds around Friday is gorgeous with sunshine. Temperatures are back up into the upper forties. We look at the extended forecast and as I mentioned, Saturday is warm but clouds are building Sunday morning, early Sunday afternoon, cloudy dry that changes going into Sunday night into early Monday morning. Give yourself a lot of extra time in that Monday morning routine to potentially deal with some travel headaches, getting wherever you go, the rain and the wind are gone for next week, the sunshine is back out but the cold that returns with morning lows in the twenties and thirties, daytime highs in the lower forties.
