The rally took place in East New York. Council members Charles Barron and Darlene Mealy gathered to call for action.
This comes after it had been reported that arsenic was detected in the water at the Jacob Riis Houses in the East Village. Some tenants there today said they’ve been forced to rely on purchasing cases of water for their daily needs.
The lab that originally claimed to find arsenic in water samples from Jacob Riis Houses issued a full retraction and released new results, calling their initial findings of arsenic 'incorrect'.
