Fireworks will be sounding off across the five boroughs, most famously the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks, and the Department of Buildings is warning New Yorkers to play it safe when trying to get the best view possible.
The DOB is sounding the alarm on how to be mindful of where you choose to watch the fireworks for the holiday. They are advising the following:
  1. Don’t gather on fire escapes - they say they are not mean to be used as a balcony and shouldn’t be obstructed
  2. Do not prop open emergency doors or disable door alarms
  3. Don’t try to lean out of you window or over an edge for a better view
  4. Unless the edge of the building has a wall or railing - stay away so you do not fall
The Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks show is tomorrow at 9:25 p.m. along the East River.
