Deputy Bronx Borough President Marricka Scott-McFadden is sharing what voting means to her.
Scott-McFadden says she helped people register to vote in college, which led to a career in politics.
"I kind of fell into elected office because of the fact that I wanted to be a part of change and help in the community," said Scott-McFadden.
She says as a deputy borough president, her day-to-day duties changes each day. She works with stakeholders across the borough, city and state.
When she is not working, Scott-McFadden says she mentors young women and travels to other countries to help future generations.
News 12's Kristie Reeter sat down with Scott-McFadden to discuss the importance of voting.
