Domestic violence survivors were treated to a day of pampering Tuesday for the 15th annual DiVA Spa event put on by the borough president's office.
"I do understand I am not alone, which I didn't know before," said survivor Rainelle Moore.
The women started off the morning with brunch, meditation yoga and spa time. That was followed by facials, manicures and getting their makeup done.
The event also gave the women tools to continue life without physical, mental and financial abuse at home.
"Once they do get out of that situation, there are many different options and opportunities," said Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., who joined the women for a manicure.
